Drum and percussion recording is one of the less common services we offer at DoMinanta. Drums are recorded in the Live Zone, next to a stone wall built specifically for this purpose. The service suits drummers and bands who want a natural drum sound.
How the session works
- Drums and percussion are set up in the Live Zone, by the natural stone wall.
- The stone adds upper-mid frequencies without creating unwanted resonances – the drums sound natural.
- Each drum is recorded to its own channel: kick, snare and three toms.
- We also record two overhead and two room microphones, plus additional microphones on the kick and snare.
