Mixing is the stage after recording, when the separate tracks are turned into the final recording. It is not just technical work: mixing determines how the song will sound.
What we pay attention to
Analogue or digital
The studio offers both. In a digital mix, the tracks are mixed in software; in an analogue mix, on the British-made Soundtracs MR-Series studio console. Which is better depends on the style of music: we listen to how each sounds and choose the better option.
Analogue mixing is especially well suited to musicians who play live – jazz, blues, alternative, rock and acoustic bands. Drums and acoustic instruments sound great mixed this way. We mix at high resolution – 192 kHz / 24 bit.
Tracks from another studio
You can bring in separate tracks recorded at another studio or send them to us online. This is worth doing if you want an analogue mix or are unsure about the quality of your recordings. After mixing, we can also do the mastering.
